This hotel was the solace we needed. To be honest we've had a string of bad luck since arriving into Santiago. It was only at this hotel that we felt really looked after. The staff and facilities are exceptional. Breakfast buffet is very good, gym and pool was great and top level bar/restaurant was amazing. We wished we had stayed longer.

We only spent two nights in Santiago and organized a day trip to Valparaiso which was pleasant enough however it would have been good to see some more of the countryside rather than just the city. We didn't really have a chance to see all that much and the visas for Chile were a pain to aquire.

Santiago is a very congested city, awful traffic and lots of smog. Food can be good though. Not much to do here, except a few places like Cerro de Santa Lucia, Museo de La Moneda, parque Bicentenario etc...

2 nights in Santiago were perfect for our three week trip of Chile.
We stayed in a quiet, safe area (Vitacura at the Noi).
Many high-end shops and restaurants were within walking distance.
The city is billed as not being that safe downtown, but we didn't experience issues during our brief stay (May out of season and quiet on a Monday/Tuesday).
The city is very polluted and smoggy not helped with the mountains and nearby mining activities.

The city is a sprawling typically grid designed place. It has an excellent metro. There’s actually more to visit than you think at first not least the Museum of Memories that should be a must for everyone. It can feel a bit edgy in certain places and at certain times but by using a bit of common sense it shouldnt be an issue. The coast is around 90 minutes away and there are many options re vineyards. Arriving during the day by bus from Mendoza was a highlight. Give it a go!

Very cool neighborhoods (Lastarria, Bellavista, Italia...), beautiful architecture, plazas, and history, vineyards close by, even bird watching in the foothills! Lots of great restaurants, bars, cafés and shopping. Uber is cheap and fast. The market area (not just Central Market) is a sight!

Maybe I didn't give it much of a chance, but I was bored by the first night. It's a pretty modern city, and I like other South American cities more -- Cuzco and Buenos Aires come to mind. I did like that it was close to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar and there were lots of bus connections there.
That said, there were some special moments such as watching a small crowd doing a procession for Good Friday and enjoying a delicious meal at Bistro Gaetan.

It took me some time to write this review, but no time passing could make me forget this absolutely amazing experience! The hotel has everything you need, the breakfast was really good, 20 min walk to the city center. Communication was super easy and thank you for allowing me to practice my Spanish. The hotel was so great that we stayed twice during our 2 weeks trip. One of my 2025 wishes is to come back to Santiago and stay at Matilda Hotel
A really beautiful house not too far to walk from downtown Santiago and the main square or a very short metro ride. The property had a very well equipped kitchen for cooking and a comfortable big lounge to relax in too. The bedroom was more like a hotel with a beautiful big bed, great bathroom, smart tv and shampoo etc products too. We were able to store our bags after check out.
A small boutique hotel in a funky part of town so surrounded by quite a number of good restaurants and a 15/20 minute walk to downtown, graffiti covered, Santiago centre.Staff were very helpful and friendly.Internet worked well.Rooms were very clean and modern although not so big.
Ideal location for our late arrival and early departure flights. Hotel's garden made you forget the airport location, and was a nice place for a drink. Staff helpful with taxis for visits to attractions in Santiago. Menu had good choice of meals, including seafood.
